Deployment steps (in order)

  1. Deploy Release 14 for Deploy Brief Connect Office Resources release pipeline in Azure DevOps to the target environment.
  2. Deploy v2.2.8-rc (1) for Deploy Brief Connect Application release pipeline in Azure DevOps to the target environment.

Power BI

  1. Download the ‘Brief Connect.pbix’ and ‘Pipeline.pbix’ files from the office resources ‘Power BI/Model’ and ‘Power BI/Reports’ folders respectively.
  2. Open the dataset workspace, select ‘Import’, choose ‘from a file’ and select ‘BriefConnect.pbix’.
  3. Once the model is imported, open the ‘Pipelines.pbix’ file in Power BI desktop.
  4. An error will appear saying the report cannot access the model. Click ‘Edit’ and select the ‘BriefConnect’ semantic model.
  5. Publish the report to the reports workspace.

Import Latest Configuration File

Config file to import: DFFH Configuration v250912-config.zip

  1. Download the latest Configuration File:
  2. Navigate to the Admin Panel:

    • Open the Brief Connect application and go to the Admin Panel (https://[WEB_APP_URL]/#/adminPanel)
    • Ensure you are logged into Brief Connect as a user with system administrative privileges.

    If there is no configuration set, you have to set up Administrator user Id in the Environment variable AdminEntraId in the Azure Function App. The value should be the Object Id of the user in Entra ID (Azure AD). 3. Click the "Import from ZIP" button. 4. In the dialog: * Click "Select File & Import". * Select the Configuration File to import attached to these release notes (see step 1.). 5. The system will process the ZIP file and import the configuration. The list of configurations will refresh, and the imported configuration can then be selected and loaded. 6. After importing, select the newly imported configuration from the dropdown list. 7. Click the "Apply" button to apply the imported configuration. 8. Wait for the confirmation message indicating that the configuration has been successfully applied. 9. Select Update SharePoint Content Types button from the menu bar. Ensure that active configuration is selected from dropdown first. 10. The application will now use the newly applied configuration settings.

Clear the Server cache

  1. In the browser console via Developer Tools, run the command window.clearCache().

Smoke Tests

Please execute the following smoke tests after completing all deployment steps:

  • From the dashboard, select the 'Filters' option. Ensure the 'Due date to Recommender' option is available as a filter and can be added to the dashboard
  • Confirm that Columns available in the 'Edit columns' side panel pertain to DFFH (i.e., unnecessary columns have been removed)
  • Confirm that Organisation Level 2 is a mandatory selection for CMIN records during initiation
  • Confirm that the values for Organisation Level 1 have been updated so that the 'Oos' has been updated to 'OOS'
