This documentation is a draft. Validate it against the approved tool package and customer operating procedures before use.

The Election Readiness Tools are standalone Windows command-line tools for authorised administrators. They run on a customer-controlled virtual machine (VM), outside the Brief Connect application. Use them for controlled SharePoint metadata reconciliation and, where approved, permanent record deletion.

These tools are operationally privileged: they can access Brief Connect data through the VM's managed identities and the existing Brief Connect Server App. Follow your organisation's change approval, access control, data retention, and evidence-handling procedures.

Before using a tool

• Obtain the approved, complete win-x64 package and confirm that its version supports the target Brief Connect environment.
• Confirm the environment's active database model and use only that model's configuration.
• Run from the approved VM and use a protected output location with enough free disk space.
• Never put passwords, certificates, access tokens, connection strings, secret values, or document contents in configuration files or retained output.
• Validate every scope and output before starting a data-changing operation. Retain run evidence according to customer policy.

The operator guides describe the current tool workflows. Validate procedures against the approved release package and customer operating procedure before a production run.
