Configure snapshot generation

Configure a workflow action to create a point-in-time PDF snapshot when a user completes that action.

Prerequisites

You must have permission to manage Brief Connect workflow configuration.

Enable snapshot generation

  1. Open the workflow in the Workflow Builder.
  2. Locate the Action block for the workflow action that should create a snapshot.
  3. Add an Extra transition block from Extra Blocks to the Action block if the action does not already have one.
  4. In the Extra transition block, select Should generate snapshot.
  5. Save the workflow configuration.

The setting applies only to that workflow action and is disabled by default. Repeat these steps for each action that should create a snapshot.

Verify snapshot generation

  1. Use a test record to complete the configured workflow action.
  2. Open the record's Documents tab.
  3. Locate the snapshot history.
  4. Confirm that a new snapshot appears with the expected creation timestamp, sender, recipient, and comments.
  5. Open the snapshot and confirm that it contains the expected record details and documents.

For snapshot contents, ordering, and the current snapshot-history ordering limitation, see Working with PDF Packs and Snapshots.
